A Certain Magical Index Review

Admittedly, I have not watched the full series, the side series or movie. There are 3 seasons and a movie that are part of the main series, where only the first and third seasons are in English. The alternatives, "A Certain Scientific Accelerator" (12 Episodes) and "A Certain Scientific Railgun" (24 episodes in first 2 seasons, 25 episodes in season 3) include English episodes as well with the exception of season 2 for "A Certain Scientific Railgun". I do not enjoy missing information, so I only was able to watch the first season of the main series. With that in mind, my opinion of this anime will be based on the episodes I watched and will not be including anything on the episodes I did not watch.

In the anime, a nun, with an eidetic memory, is forced to hold the entirety of all grimoires within her memory but there is a cost. She may not have magical abilities herself, however, she is able to access the grimoires when she needs to protect herself. She runs into someone who befriends her. Though her new friend has no magical ability either, he is able to remove magic from anything he touches with the help of his right hand. He also demands to protect the nun as the church insists on him doing certain tasks that could destroy the world. At least that is what I have gathered from the first season.

I think that if the whole series was in English, it would be a descent anime. There were several moments throughout the season that I watched that were funny. There were also several serious moments that were almost emotional to the viewer (AKA me, I will not vouch for other people as we are all different). I will not rate this anime since I am not able to keep up with subtitles most of the time and was unable to watch the entire series. I enjoyed the one season that I watched. If you were able to watch the full series, or even if you weren't, what did you think? This is Skyler signing off for now, UNTIL NEXT TIME!
