A Sign of Affection Review

I want to start out by praising the artists who did the artwork in this series. Anyone who is an amateur artist can likely agree drawing hands is one of the most difficult things to draw let alone drawing hand signs for sign language. That being said, Yuki (the main female protagonist) is deaf. Itsoumi (the main male protagonist) learns sign language to better communicate with her.

This series is so full of emotion which is brought out by the beautiful artwork and dialogue. Yuki reads lips and by doing so, she learns a great deal about the man she meets at the beginning of the series. She even begins to develop feelings for him. Itsoumi, a stoic almost gloomy man lets himself show happiness and weakness around Yuki. This series is still relatively new as it came out 2024. There is still a chance for the series to continue.

I hope there is another season released; the story feels unfinished. On the other hand, by the way the last episode ended, it felt as if the first season was wrapped up nicely. I will gladly watch this series multiple times. I cannot account to the accuracy to the sign language as I know very little myself, however there is subtitles for the viewer. What is not translated via subtitles, Yuki says it as if the viewer is seeing everything from her perspective. I loved seeing this series, I think it is worth watching the 12-episode series. The only downside is there is no confirmation on whether there will be a second season. I would like to see how Yuki and Itsoumi grows their relationship further while they travel the world together. Now that you know what I think about this anime, let me know what you think. This is Skyler signing off for now, UNTIL NEXT TIME!!
